With "only" 70mm of objective to draw thru & unless they are VERY high quality (spelled EXPEN$IVE!) I'd predict them to "get fuzzy" much past 30x & by the time you turn them past 100x you'll wonder who turned the lights out!!! You'll also need a VERY GOOD tripod for them once over 20ish as well, never mind 280...
