price on rangefinder

looking at a used rangefinder Bushnell Yardage pro 450 for $80. that should be a steal right?

Only if that rangefinder will do the job that you want it to do.Be aware that the yardage ratings on rangefinders is for highly reflective targets,not animals.The range when used on animals is usually between 1/2 and 2/3 the range on highly reflective targets.In other words,expect a 450 yard rangefinder to range deer sized animals at 250 to 300 yards or so.

stubblejumper, I guess i should have said what i would using it for. I do archery only so the range would be under 40 yards.

? how good are they on trees out to 400 yards ?
