Default Elite 4200 Question?

What ????? This is the first Elite 4200 I have fiddled with.

Turning the elevation towards "U" arrow direction brings the POI down .... turing the windage towards the "R" brings the POI leftward. This seems bass-ackwards to me. Is this normal for this Bushnell ? .... And yes, I have zeroed many a scope? It is mounte4d correctly. And yes I double & triple checked. And I have a witness if I should need one.

I am copnfused. Brochure makes no mention of how the adjustment direction relates to the the POI.

Default RE: Elite 4200 Question?

I have an Elite 3200 4X12. I believe the adjustments are similar for the 4200 except that the clicks may be 1/8 MOA for the 4200 compared tomy scope which is 1/4 MOA per click. It is printed on the turrents how much the clicks represent in terms of MOA.

Turning the windage turrent counter-clockwise (in the "R" direction) moves the POI (bullet strike) to the right

Turning the elevation turrent counter-clockwise (in the "UP" direction) moves the POI higher.

Default RE: Elite 4200 Question?

I have finally worked this scope into a "zeroed" in. Took me forever. First of all, I was incorrect in that the POI is bass-ackwards. The problem was apparently the scope mounting system that was already on the rifle must have been just lose enough to allow the scope to slip on recoil.Got that done by upgradingthe mounting system and starting over. Came right in. However, the "MOA" adjusment was not 1/4" @ 100 yards as stated, but more like 1/2" - 3/4"at 100 yards/click! Overcame that.

I took 4 deer with the set up last week (Savage 10ML and Elite 4200). Load was 43 gr. of Accurate 4744 and Hornady 300 gr. , 45 cal. sabot for 50 cal. ML. One nice 8 pt. and 3 doe. Two were taken as late into the day as allowed by Ala. hunting regulations. The Elite 4200 did pretty good in these low light conditions. It is a so called "Rain Guard" model with a "Firefly" reticule.Ithe "Firefly" to be of no use to me at all.I would not pay extra for it.

Based upon this brief 5 day field use, I would recommend this scope as a good buy, though the scope is heavy, thelength seems very long to me and the adjusments are not as fine or as consistent as I expected them to be.
