Default NIkon with BDC questions

So on my new nikon buckmaster with bdc it says when sighting in a magnum at 200 the next circle is 300,400,500,600
No i'm shooting a 7mm and only sighted it in at 100 will it be 200,300,400,500? like it was sighted in as a non-magnum?

Default RE: NIkon with BDC questions

It is what the literature says but you have to go to the range and check what you get with your cartridge. This is just an average.. If you do not have access to a 200 or 300 yds range, you can try to sight it at 100, and then fire at the 100 using the first circle. See how high you hit and see if that matches the ballistic data for your cartridge.
