Default What is the best power for a rangefinder?

I'm looking at getting a Nikon 440. The desciption says that it is 8x power. Is that too much forbow hunting? Or should I get something smaller?

The Nikon 440 is all you need for bow hunting. Had mine going on 5 years and just love it.

6x or 8x seems to be the standard, for bowhunting I'd take 6x for rifle 8x hands down.

8x does a better overall job IMO, though seems many come in 6x thesedays.
