I have personally witnessed three simmons scopes fail,so I will never trust one for any type of hunting.

I've had an older Aetec on a .338WM for several years now and it's never failed. I haven't owned any other Simmons scopes so couldn't comment on their quality level.

The last and only Simmons Aetec scope I bought went in the trash can. It would not hold zero on a .22 Hornet, I'm sure it would be even worse on a rifle that has some recoil.

Before Meade bought them out, back around 2000I believe, they were good scopes..... great for the money. Now, I don't know of anyone who has been happy with them. They went downhill big time.

I would not recommend buying one. There are other scopes for the money or a few $$$ more that would serve you much more reliably.

I purchased my Aetec scope about 6 years ago from BPS. I have it on my .50 cal omega, it has worked flawless for all those years and held true without needing adjustment since I originally sighted the gun in.

I am not sure of the quality now but I have had great success with mine and will not remove it from my gun.
