Default 6-20-50.....to big?

i work for a certain company where i get discounts on a certain scope.. i need a silver scope but they only make 2 kinds in silver... 3-9-42 an a 6-20-50.... i want something bigger than a 3-9-42.. now my longest shot i prolly ever have is 150-175 in less im screwin around somewhere shootin... question is, is 6-20 jus to big for me an make things harder?

The minimum magnification of 6x could be a handicap on close range shots, and 20x is certainly not needed on a big game rifle.I would definitely go with the 3x9x42.

The 3-9 x 42mm would work very well for the distance you mentioned unless the targets are very small...

3-9x is plenty out to 200yds.

Why do you need a silver scope? Seen plenty of black scopes on stainless barrels and it looked fine. Assuming that's your situation. Possibly consider a black scope in between those 2 sizes?

The quality of the glass and the coatings are a LOT more important than the x's. I had rather have a Zeiss 3x9x40 than a bucket full of cheap 6x20x50's.

salukipv1- yes its for a stainless barrell.. i dunno jus prefrence i guess..like the look of silver scope on stainless barrell...dont care for black on stainless...

timber- its a nitrex brand... fairly new scope made by federal/atk... it has alot of good reviews for it... but ive yet to personally try one out...

i figured 6-20 was a lil over kill but i always wanted some big ass scope..lol.. dont know why either...

The 6-20x50 is one huge, heavy scope.
