Default leupold VX-lll

i want to get the VX-lll in 8.5-25X50mm for shooting around 500 to 600 yards but, i like the VX-7 the best but it only goes to 18 power and i dont think it is enough.

Never buy a scope that isnt a Leupold.40 years of hunting, never a problem with one.Even if you did, you can send it in and they will fix it or replace it.Not that I have ever had to do it-but if you should have a problem with one you can send it in and get it replaced EVEN if you are not the original owner.

8.5x25 is a great scope. It will be a little hard to see 6mm holes at 500 but you can usually see 30 cal holes. Although the Nightforce is great because of the 42 power, at more than double the cost for a NSX the Leupold will do just fine for the money. If you really want to spend the $$ get the March variable 60 power. A smooth $2500 will land that on top of your gun.

25x? hunting? target? if for hunting 18x would be plenty IMO, I'm not sure I'd ever buy a scope past 14x or 16x for a hunting rig, though a target setup I could understand.

both the vx-iii and vx-7 are nice, I think if I was going to spend vx-7 prices, I'd just spendthe moneyand get a swarovski.

Had a saWORSEki -they suck to me.Alot better light gathering ,and point of impact remaing the same with the Leupold.
On a hunting rig like my 700 the 4.5x14x50 is perfect.Everything above that is for target.

Had a LeuP(Old) scope in fact I bought so many I thought there was nothing better . That is until I looked thru a Saworseski. Ever since then no more Leupolds but Swaro,Kahles, zeiss , S&B and a host of others. It always amazes me that Leupold owners are so defensive of their scopes and slam better scopes. Just Amazing

I bought a lupy MK 4 Tactical for a .338 LM 4 shots through it, and the damn reticle broke loose of the glass. How do I know it was reticle, it was straight, perfectly straight on 3 sides, and the same width as the other posts. Luepold tried to tell me that it was just dust. Though their customer service was outstanding ( it has to be with that kind of quality ) I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again.
