At first I was going to say leupold! but then I realized you said leupold rifleman......to me bushnell was always associated with cheap to me, though I think the rifleman is leupolds cheaper model as well. I would strongly suggest the VX-I or VX-II or just spending more cash on something nicer/higher quality.

For a little extra I would go with either a VX-I or VX-II. If you can swing the extra cash stick with the Rifleman.

Neither of the two mentioned would be on my list. I'd recommend a 3-9 X 40 Bushnell Elite 4200, a Nikon Buckmaster or a Sightron SII. The Elite 4200 is a VERY GOOD scope and can be had in your price range. Shop around online.

You couldn't give me either of your first choices. Very little difference between the Rifleman and VX-1 except price and the Vx-II is 300 .

I would go Bushnell 3200 if you can't swing the 4200. the 3-9x40 4200 is in the low 2's anywhere you look these days and is an absolute gem

I agree with everyone else that neither a Rifleman or a Trophy will ever go on to one of my rifles ever again.

Elite 4200 will cost you $500 or more in most shops - not a very good buy for someone that might only want to shoot 50 - 150 yards.

Elite 3200 is a very good choice - but is still pricy at $300 - $350
