Default Anybody got info on the 3x9x40 4200 Elite??

I received a sales notice today, showingthe 3x9x40 bushnell 4200 elite100 less then the 2.5x10x40mm 4200 and only 50 bucks more then 3x9x40 3200 elite. I logged onto the Bushnell website but theyno longer list this model or power selection. Was it a special runor last years model? The price IMOseems very goodfor a 4200 (240.00). What gives??? Anybody got one or info on the 3x9x40 model. I previouslyowned a 2.5x10x40 4200 elite and thought it was a pretty good scope.

Was thinking about trying thenew Nikon Monarch 2.5x10x42 for the newML but this one would be cheaper and if it rates with the 4200 optically I feel its better then the Monarch. Though I haven't seen the "new" monarch either, so basing it on previous experience. I knowNikons are bright butnot sure it'd beas clear, especially edge to edge as the 4200 elite's.

Thanks

Very nice scopes, probably the best bang for the buck you will find. They are rated on par with the Monarch and are very close to the Conquest. The Rain Guard is a nice addition.

I have one of the 4200 3-9x40 scopes on my 30-06. I love it, crisp, clear view and the sighting in was easy. At 100 yards it was stacking bullets and the 1/4" per click was dead on. I have since ordered the 2.5-10x40 for my Savage 7mm Rem Mag. Thanks to the input of this forum I changed my mind from the 6-24X40 (over scoped for my needs) and purchased the Bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40. I am sure you will like the scope if you decide to purchase it.

What Timbercruiser said. I believe they have been discontinued. Why...who knows. I have one and like it.

They can still be found on Ebay and www.theopticzone.com still lists them on his site. I may be buying one for my new muzzleloader.

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's both offer the Elite 4200 3-9x40. Both these have great customer service and return policies just incase something happens to the scope.

They are also about 50 dollars or so more then Jon at the OPticzone and offer inferior service..plus in most cases Jon throws in the shipping.

I live in Canada and none of the abovevendors ship a rifle scope north of the 49th.[&:] I buy most of my optics state sidejustelsewhere. I have found Doug at cameralandny excellent to deal with and will ship to Canada. His posted prices aren't always the cheapest I've seen, though I've found him to not shy from making a deal either.

Jon at The Optic Zone ships to Canada with the necessary paperwork completed. Retailers can not ship riflescopes to Canada with out the permits.
