Default Loctite?

I just picked up a new Knight KRB muzzleloader today and a set of Weaver bases. What is the prefered Loctite used for mounting scope bases? The red or the blue stuff? All my other deer hunting guns are shotguns with cantilever mount barrels so I've never had to mount a base before. Thanks!

Well if you plan onkeeping the bases forever and ever on that gun Use the red..Its the red stuff..No 271,266 262,
277 272, 2760....
The red holds up to shakes and vibrations more than the blue.....

Blue can be removed without heat/just hand toolsand has always worked fine.

Red is made for higherheat applications and requires some heating to remove with hand tools. Personally don't want to pull out the torch to remove a base off my guns.

I found the 248 Loctite blue paste works very well and not as messy...

Blue is the recommended color for a screw that needs removing later. If for whatever reason you apply red to a screw and properly you might destroy the screw removing it.
