Default New S & B scope

Here's a news flash I just received. For those of you that prefer the high end optics, Schmidt and Bender will be out (hopefully summer of '08) with a new scope. It will supposedly be a 2.5-10 X 40 (Summit), 1" tube with a 2nd focal plane reticle. I'm really anxious to see it as I love S & B scopes but didn't want a FFP reticle. Also, being a 1" tube it will likely be lighter than their other 30mm offerings. It should be a winner in the U.S. market. S & B scopes have wonderful optics and are built like a tank.

I wonder what kind of price it will have. Sounds like a competetion scope for the Conquest.

Based on their current prices on fixed scopes I am betting the low 1000 dollar figure. I need to get a 1" tube 3.5-10x50 or a 4-12x56 and will end up with a Kahles .

I suppose it will be over 1 K... probably competiting with the upper end Kahles and Swaro AV's. Time will tell. Kahles are great scopes. I have had a CL and looked thru (and impressed with) a CSX. Now that Kahles is out from under Swaro, I expect them to find a good nitche in the upper end optic line at a little better price point. Kahles has some new offerings out shortly. A K312 series 3-12X50, 34mm tube with a FFP reticle and a K48 4.5-18 X 50 30 mm tube with a FFP reticle. I just prefer top of the line optics and will save for a year, if neccessary, to get them over "ordinary" scopes. Hopefully this new S & B will be good. Then again the Z-6 Swaro is really sweet as is the Zeiss Diavari. Too many decisions, not enough $.
