Default LEUPOLD VXIII B&C ILLUM

Hi,

I just ordred a Leupold VXIII 3.5x10 B&C Iluminated reticle for 479.00 from Cabelas. (back ordered)

I hear this a good scope at a great price, looking for opinions, or any info ,
I have never used the B&C or Iluminated recticle before(I know, putting cart before the horse).

My screen name s/b Makoman1, I hit M by accident when I re-registered--Could some tell me how to amend my name,

Thanks

Your stuck with that name for life..as for the scope I have the vari-X-III 4.5X14X50 Illum. the only thing I dislike about it is the light switch knob has no stop on the switch. You have to make sure your switch is off before casing it, and it can be turned on by rubbing it in your gun case, batteries are about $6.00 each. I would have thought Leupold could have came up with a better switch than that.

I've never understood the need of an illuminated reticle. With a quality scope you should be able to clearly see the reticle in low light. With my scope it can be so dark you can't see a deer with naked eye and I can still plug him.....

You've got a good point. I've never used my light on my scope while Deer hunting, I can see just fine during legal shooting light. But night time yote hunting helps see the cross hairs.

It's a good scope...I wouldn't call it great though. Could have better glass IMO. I do like the B & C reticle though. I'm sure it will serve you well. Congrats.

I haven't been a fan of Luepold now for about 8 years. I think there are better scopes out there for the same price. Hope it works for you and that you are happy with it, because ultimatly, it really doesn't matter if I like it or not. Good luck to you.
