Default Fixes for scratched scope?

My scope mounts were apparently too loose and my scope moved scratching my scope. One part the paint is just slightly rubbed off but another there is a pretty deep scratch down to the metal. I was wondering if there is anything i can apply to prevent rusting or if any one knows if i can get this covered by warenty? It is a nikon prostaff scope on weaver mounts.
thanks

I highly doubt the waranty is going to cover a poor mounting job, and I doubt it will cover cosmetic problems either.

Most scope tubes are made from aluminum so it won't rust. If you are really worried about it smooth out the scratch and paint it.

Use a black magic marker and move on , neither the mounts or scope will rust with the exception of the steel Weaver screws. Cosmetic marks are usually not covered .
