Natchezss.com has some great closeouts.

For targets with your AR, you could get the Browning 4-14x40AO for $189.95.

For general hunting, you could do the browning in 3-9x40 for $129.95. I bought this one when it was $20 higher, & it was still a steal.

These 2 scopes are private-labeled for Browning by Bushnell, at 3200 specs. Some say the glass is even better, though it doesn't have the RainGard coatings.

The Weaver Grand Slam 4.75x40 is a wonderful fixed scope, and I believe they've still got them at $149.95. This might not be anyone's 1st pick for an AR, though.

Any of these scopes would hang with the Leupold VXII line, for substantially less $$$. There's just no need to go with cheap glass.

Sightron SII 3X9X40

http://www.discoveryoptics.com/st200037.html

$199 shipped to your door.

Most experts will tell you that Sigthron scopes are the biggest secret in the scope industry. Great scope for a reasonable price.

Bushnell Elite 3200. Nothing wrong with the Burris FFII or SII mentioned.

An aweful lot of people praise Nikon scopes as well, should be able to find a few models under 200.

Optics are personal, so I suggest before you buy off ebay, etc you do some comparing of your own and let your eyes tell you which ones you like best.

Good luck

About four or five months ago I bought a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X40 for $199 and it is an awesome scope. Very clear scope and I am sure you could find this scope on EBay for even less. I think Nikon makes some of the nicest optics for the lowest price...

Here's a vote for one of the last year's Monarch 3x9x40's, you should be able to find one for about $200. Another choice would be one of the used/demo scopes like you will find on sites like SWFA's site. A lot of them are new, never been hunted with and if you find one you are interested in you can call and they will pull the scope and give you an accurate description of it.
