It's a closeout scope.... older model.... there are others out there to look at... If you are interested in the 2-7x32 or wheather you would accept a 3-9 or other is the question.
A 32 mm scope has a smaller vield of view than a 40 or 50 mm. It also will let in less light early and late than a 40 or a 50 mm... A general way to look at it is like this.
If it is 6:30 A.M. AND THE SUN IS JUST COMING UP AND YOU CAN SEE THE OUTLINE OF A BUCK IN THE DISTANCE.... If you could use a 32 , a 40 , or a 50 mm scope ... it would wind up like this.... You can see the buck ( get enough light ) on 5 X with the 32 mm ... then you would be able to go to 6X on the 40mm and you can go to 7X on the 50 and have the same light in your sight picture.... So a larger objective allows you to use a higher power early and late, or keep the power the same and just have a brighter sight picture....
If you are just interestedin a cheaper Nikon scope, that would do fine, but you can also check out places like
www.durhamoutdoorsupply.com or
www.theopticzone.com to compare. But that is a closeout scope. But it is still a Nikon Monarch. They are quality.
