Default Need Reviews on New Binos

Hey fellas, I'm in the market for a good set of glass. Currently I have some Pentaxs and some Nikon Actions. The Pentax is considerably better than the Nikons, but they are really bulky, so I don't use them at all. They sit in my house on the window sill for looking out of my house.

Here is what I want. Excellent low light transmission, clarity, lightweight, durable.

I am willing to spend up to $1000.

I looked thru some Zeiss Conquest ABK (or something like that) the other day at the shop, and they were pretty nice. I have a buddy that has the high end Bruntons that are unreal, and another buddy that has a set of Leupold Gold Rings, so I've looked through those as well.

My bud has these http://www.opticsbestbuy.com/ZEISS-Conquest-Binoculars-10x40-524510.htmlhe like the high twillight performance and the shock absorpers. There extremely clear glass and aren't as expensive as Leica or Swaroski.

I've been exceptionally pleased with the Shot Show Demos I got from Natchez last Summer. Incredible glass, that was nearly 30% off:

Zeiss Conquest are great high end optics. I would check out Swarovski and Leica along with Zeiss. With these choices you won't waste money or go back to purchase any need binoculars anytime soon.

You said you have pentaxes sitting on your window sill then I hear recomendations for Zeiss conquest. Are your pentaxes the DCF SP variety? IF not i reccomend giving them a try, they are every bit as good as the conquest if not better IMO. However I also do most of my glassing from a tripod so weight dosen't matter. Just giving a recomendation

Let me know

My Pentaxs aren't the premiums. I think they were around the $250-300 mark when new. And they are a big bulky unit. They actually knocked a windshield out of my pickup once. They were sitting on my dash going down a washboard gravel road and got wedged in between the windhshield and my dash and shattered my whole windshield out. Thats when they got demoted to house use only.

LMAO, thats the first time i heard binos doing damage like that. I bet that will teach you to keep binos safely stored next time around.
