Default Leupold vs Burris

I am considering buying a new pair of binos and have narrowed it to two. I am considering the Burris Fullfield II and Leupold Windriver Cascade. Both are in 10x42, have roof prisms, very similar field of view, size and weight. The Leupolds are about $100 more but has the best warranty in the business vs 1 year for the Burris. Has anyone owned either and what do you like and dislike? How do they perform at dusk and dawn? If you had to do it again, would you buy the same? Thanks for the info.

I have theSwarovski 10x42 SLC's, but I did have the leupolds at one time. I sold the Leuplods to a friend then went out and bought the Swarovski. The leuplods were alright but I would recomend the Swarovski.

Glad to hear you like your Swaros but at $1150 more than the two I asked about, they are not an option. I do not need a pair of premium binos for the type of hunting I do. I normally only use them 4-6 times per hunt for 1-2 minutes per time.
Being as these binos are more of a luxury to me than a necessity, I have limited myself to a budget of $300. I have also been looking at the Nikon Monarch ATB.

Leupold optics are about as bulletproof as you are going to get.

I have had a Leupold Gold Rings for around 12 years. The rubber armor wore off from use. I sent them in and they re-did the entire bino fo free. Also droped them out of my tree stand and nocked them out of focus. I sent them in and they repaired for free. You cant beat there service.

Here's the deal. The wind rivers are ok.But are ***aneselowerend. I have a set of 10X50 wind rivers Mesathat has been with me moose hunting a few times. But bottom line, they are lower end binocs. I can't say they are the clearest things around. I was trying to view moose and bou out to 1100 yards or more and just could make them out well. But they were a $200 dollar set, what does one expect? I tried out the stiener preditor series ~$300, and they are worth the extra 100 dollars. Next, I would suggest steiner marine series, that run around ~$450. Very good. After that, the SLC's are well, one of the best. I have seen several times on ebay SL's going for 800 dollars 10X42, and have came very close to buying. But for the hunting I do, I couldn't imagine taking glass like that out.

Now the golden ring binocs are awesome. Very expensive, but top notch.

You want the best, buy leicas. But who can afford that. Thats all we buy at our company for microscopes for micro electronic design.

i like my Burris Fullfield II they are comparable in quality to Leupold. Leupold grabs you with $100 more don't do it. Burris Fullfield II are made well so warranty isnt much really needed as far as the two go. Thats my input take it for what its worth
