Default Bino Choice??

Just looking for some insight from anyone with experience with either of these two pairs of binos...I'm looking to upgrade

1. Leupold gold ring, 10/17 x 42
2. Zeiss Conquest 15 x 45

I am assuming the glass is great on both. just looking for input. I have a pair of nikon monarchs 10 x 42 but am aggravated about the eyecup which has broken twice in one year and i don't want to keep on sending themin for repair every 6 months.

thanks for the advice.

I have a pair of Leupold Windriver binos, and they aren't worth a plugged nickel. My current binos are Conquest 12x45's, and I absolutely love.

I would go with the Conquest 15x.

I don't know what type of hunting you do...
But for glassing,They may be useful for you in broad daylight, but may hold you back in the early dawn and dusk..
If you use them only when you see something of interest, they'd certainly be handy, but again in daylight not so much in early or later minutes of light.....
I'd personally stick with either fixed 10x or 8 power with a 45mm objective lens.
At the very very most a fixed 12 power.....
15 x 45 only gives you 3mm eye relief and as far as the Leupolds variable goes,at 17X you'll beacheiving a 2.4mm exit pupil...
Now I'm not saying it won't be handy, but from a practical standpoint,I don't see much of an advantage with the variable..By the time you fiddle around with the magnification and adjusted your focusing, precious time has gone by..
The difference between 17 power,15power and ten power is small especially when your using superior optics....
This is where light gathering has the advantage over magnification..
I bet you'll be able to get everything you need to know out of a pair of Zeiss Conquet 10x42 or Leupold Gold ring 10x42..
These magnifications andeither of these 2 brands of binos, are
more than capable of spotting game and determining size of game at over a mile.....
Its just my opinion, but personally I like a quality bino that gives me all the visual info I need to know as fast as possible,so my mind can make the right decision quickly and safely and ultimately successfully.....
