I had really wanted to check one out against a Zeiss Conquest, Nikon Monarch, VXIII, and a Bushnell Elite 4200. However, my local store didn't have them, so I tried the FFII: it wasn't in the same league (butit did seem to be adamned fine scope for the $$$).

If you can find one to test against other scopes in which you're interested,go ahead & throw it into the lineup. I don't think the quality or durability would take a back seat to any in its price range. Let your eyes be the judge.

I purchased one several months ago. I ended up returning it for an exchange. There was nothing major wrong with it. Optically it was very good. It just seemed too big and blocky for the rifle I had mounted it on. Randy Wakeman from Guns and Shooting Online likes these scopes alot-FWIW. I'd stick with Zeiss Conquests, 4200 Elites or Leuppys.

Yes I've heard good reports about Zeiss, but personally I would rather get something American made, like Burris.

The Conquest is about as American as Lupy's are.

Yep just like Burris and Leupold, Zeiss Conquests are assembled in the USA (New YorkI believe). All three use components other then US made!! Choice is yours but if the Zeiss is out, I'd take the Leuy over a Burris.

Yes, you guys were right. I purchased the Burris Signature Select on line, and when it arrived I didn't like it at all. The rings that adjust the zoom were so tight I could hardly turn it. I compared the optics to a $129.00 Nikon Pro-Staff that I have on a shotgun, and the Nikon was clearer and crisper. I went ahead and returned it and ordered the Zeiss Conquest. I seem to have to always learn things the hard way. I guess that's why I am still a fawn on this forum.
