Default Cheaper Scope for a 30/30

As the title says, I'm looking for a failry inexpensive scope for my Marlin 30/30. I'm looking for some recommendations on brands models. I don't need anything too fancy or high end. A standard 3x9x30 or x40 would be fine.I'm thinking about spending $150 or under (hopefully). I justtook offthe nice scope I had on the Marlin to put on my sporter Mauser.

Also have a question about BSA scopes. I see them all over the place for fairly cheap, how is the quality for the cost. Comparable to what you get pay or a little less/more than what you pay for? May sound like a silly question, I know, but I'm curious. Also, what about cheapBushnell or Tasco scopes? Thanks in advance guys!

I would recommend a Nikon Prostaff, as you can get a 3x9 for around $130 and they have a life time warranty.

I also suggest a Nikon Prostaff. I have a 2-7 x 32 on my slug gun. I paid $129.00 and it's actually a pretty good scope.

in my opinion for the money and quality at around 70bucks or cheaper a bushnell banner 3-9 40mm can be had and they would serve plenty well ona 30-30win. I have one on my6mm rem and 270win and all are very clear and present no problems even after years of use. For bushnells mid end scope im very impressed. I wont hesitate buying another one in the future! Very bright in low light and a very pleasing scope for the $$. I wont hesitate to buy more of them.

I had given thought to suggesting a bushnell banner as well, as I have one that has served well on my .30-.30. Nikon or bushnell would likely serve you fine.

A small 4x32 scope is ideal for a .30-30 lever gun. They are lightweight, high enough power, and will mount nice and low on the receiver.

Too big of a scope on a .30-30 will look a little ridiculous if you ask me. {sorry} I mean, I used to have an old Glenfield 4x32 scope mounted on a low Weaver base and it was fine. But I ended up taking it off and hocking it on Ebay. I decided to go retro and "old school" and go back to plain iron sights. I don't shoot over 100 yards anyway and always hunt in the heavy woods and thickets.

Ya I had a 3x9x40 on it, worked nice, but did look a little funny. I have over/under mounts (see through mounts) on her, but i wanna get some better sights for it too. Anyway, I tookthescopeoff to put iton my mauser that just had a crappy little fixed power scope, good trade off if the fixed power was in better shape. Now that crappy scope is sitting on our neighborhood squirell killing pellet gun [:-]and my mauser shoots dimes at 100yds. Can't complain on that one!
