Default Scope Adjustments

I am trying to figure out if I am "getting" how to adjust target type knobs to shoot after different ranges.

My scope has 1/2 MOA adjustments. So, for example, let's say I have arifle that has 6" of drop at 300 yards. From what I understand you would take 3 for 300 yards and multiply it X the number of the adjustment to = adjustmentfor that yardage.

EXAMPLE:
2MOA of adjustment X 3 for 300 yards = 6" at 300 yards.

Is this correct? Thanks for the help, and I hopeIwasn't too confusing.

Default RE: Scope Adjustments

moa is a unit of angular measurement equal to 1/60th of 1 degree which equals 1.047" per 100 yds of range.
1/2 moa adjustments come out to 1/2" at 100, 1moa at 200, 1.5 moa at 300 and so on.
so your 22" low at 500 yds, each click is 2.5" so you dial up 9 clicks (.5x5 per=2.5x9=22.5" change in POI
