Default New scope for $25.00

I went into Sports Authority today just to look around. They had some clearance items on a table and I found a Brand New, Unopened Bushnell scope for $25.00The Box reads "Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn" 3-9X40mm, Multicoated for Dusk & Dawn Brightness, Wide Angle Field of View, etc.Originally listed for $109.95. I have an old 98 Mauser in 30-06 that I'm setting up for my son to use for moose hunting. This scope should work out pretty good for a beginner rifle for him. What do you guys think???

Actually, the Banners aren't half bad... (especially for that price). Just keep an eye on it, as the entry level scopes often don't hold up well over extended periods of time.

I have a banner on my son's 700bdl in 30-06. Works great, held zero perfect for two years. I was quite impressed especially since he isn't exactly easy on equipment at that early age.

I wouldn't have left without buying it for $25 new in the box. You'll probably never see a deal like that in a long time.......so get back there today and buy it!

I did buy one, maybe I should go back and pick up a few more and sell them on eBay!!! Or just stash them way so if the need ever arises, I'll have and extra on hand. It just seemed like to good of a deal to walk away from. For $24.97 it was a screaming deal.

The optics looked bright and clear. Seems to be a pretty good little scope. I especailly like the Wide-Angle lens. For my sons beginner rifle, it should work fine for 3-4 years. Then he can buy what he wants.

Sounds like a good deal. I have used one on my Marlin 30-30 for the past few years and it has held up well. I also used it on a Enfield .303 for a short while as well. They are fairly clear and fairly duable scopes, but would keep an eye on zero if using on rifles with more recoil.
