Default RE: Has Anyone?

Its an old idea, Nikon is just catching back up to its competition like Burris and others who have had similarretciles for awhile now.

Bullet drop reticiles are a useful tool for some but they tend to over simplify long range shooting. Shooting at 500 yds isn't quite as simple as ranging the target and applying the appropraite hold over. A bunch of factors that most shooters can be blissfully ignorant at when shooting 100-300 yards become progressivly (maybe geometricly) more important as range increases.

Once upon a time (20 years ago) I shot maybe 5000 rounds of high power at ranges 300-1200 yds a year and I could make a first shot hit on a shilloute at 700 or 800 yds a very high precentage of the time. NowI shoot maybe 200 or 300 rounds a year, most of it at less than 300 yds. Frankly I think if I could hit 700 yd shilloute after a sighter id be pretty lucky.

Nikon makes a good scope for the price and the new reticle should be help but it won't make a 300yd shooter a 600 yd shooter
