Just currious to see which one you"™re looking at. I just came across one this morning made by Burris. Looks interesting... www.burrisoptics.com/laserscope.html

That scope is the exact one i was looking at but i couldnt find that link but by the sounds of it, it is pretty handy but the only thing i noticed one thing that would be a problem and its that it only operates down to 14 degrees F which may not work most of the time for me cause i can hunt in weather down to -22 degrees F so i dont think the money on the rangefinding would help me out much in that type of weather. But thanks for the link that kind of gave me some more insight on it.

Buy yourself an LRF that way it is not pegged to one rifle and should one component fail for whatever reason your not totally hanging! Believe me once you get a rangefinder you'll use it a lot more than you think. I use mine a ton during scouting, setting up locations for various weapons, etc. As well just practicing yardage judging of targets then verifying it with the LRF for the snap occasions when hunting.

Yah thats what i was thinkin of getting instead of the scope its self. A few guys i hunt with have them and they love them but i just figured it would be neat just to have it in your scope so you dont have to pull it out before you take a shot but looks like thats what i will be doin anyways.

I wouldn't touch them......
These optical devices mounted ontop of a gun are unnecceasary, not to mention potentially dangerous...
Now, more so than ever before....
Pointing a gun towards something you want to get an accurate distance to?
What happens if the target is out of your shooting range...You just broke the law...
It is illegal to point a firearm at anything you don't intend to shoot..
It won't be too long before they will be considered illegal in many States and Provences......
The wheels are already in motion in British Columbia.....

go for at least the leica 1200 and above, the rest are good for maybe 50% of they're advertized range. the swauro will range a mile under good conditions, then there's the 200 yd newcoms.
