Default Bushnell's Fireflys?

Any have experience with these scopes? Is the reticle still black when "uncharged"? Do you have a problem with the reticle being too "charged" and glowing too bright? ....and lastly, do you suggest it for the extra $$$?

I had rather pay more for better glass and coatings than a illuminated sight myself.

I have one and wouldn't suggest spending the extra money for it. Crosshairs are black when not charged. When charged mine don't start glowing till right at dark(after legal shooting time has ended). Also I find the crosshairs too heavy for my tastes.
