Default I have a scope recommendation

Just sighted in my 30-06 BAR and for those of you looking for a medium range scope with the best all around capability I can personally attest to the value of the Leupold VX-1 in 2-7 power.

This is hands down the best scope you can buy for 90% of the shots that will be taken (at least in the Southeast).

At $180 from Dick's Sporting Goods, you will not be sorry with this scope.

I bought mine, carried the BAR in the store, they attached the scope and boresighted it.

At the range the first shot was dead center of the bullseye and the second was a quarter inch to the left of the first.
No fiddling with the adjustments.

Simply incredible.

Look no further if you need a scope.

Go get the Leupold.

As a disclaimer, I am a fantastic shot and the BAR is the most accurate gun on the planet.

Yeah, I didn't buy that when I typed it either. Ha!

Seriously, the scope is the best I have ever used.

Actually that is moreluck in boresighting than anything to do with the scope.

Gee, You think?

[:-]

Still the best scope, luck or not.

And I am the best shot in the world and the BAR is the most accurate gun!

I you really believe that, you obviously haven't had the pleasure of using a higher end scope.

Lupy VX I is not considered a qualitytop end scope and the higher rated Lupys are generally considered over priced for the quality.

In reply.

I have a couple of other scopes and all are nice.

But, for $190 you can't beat the price of the scope in reference, especially where I hunt.
As I said in my post, it is the best I've found for me.
And I agree that the guy that boresighted the rifle did a heck of a job!

Now I assume that we all know that this was based on my personal opinion and the excitement felt at the ease of sighting in the rifle and the scope.

So attacks on whether or not I am a 'kid' is funny.

My guess is I am as old and wise as most of the users ofthis site.

In addition I was professionally trained to shoot (USMC) so I assume that I can shoot every bit as good as a seasoned shooter like 'cascadedad'.

Frankly, I am insulted that either or both of you feel that you are any way better than any of the rest of the people who use this board for enjoyment and to get and give ideas and reviews.

I am not a 'kid', but you should feel bad that a quip like that may have stopped one 'kid' from voicing his or her opinion on a gun or scope that got them excited about going in the woods or shooting a gun.

Ahh, I feel so much better!

Jakal,
Nice post. I have a vari-x II 2-7x33 that is very similar to the vx-I. I think it is a wonderful scope for a timber rifle.

I agree on the VX-l I have had a 3x9 on one of my rifles for three years now. Its never worked less than perfect. I would certainly buy another one and have no reason to spemd more. Its crystal clear and I have not touched an adjustment since I put it on.
