Well in my opinion, I will most likely take heat on this, is that most archers shoot the fat shaft becuse it covers more area. Meaning for those on the line shoots the fat shaft will break the line where a normal shaft would not. Comes down to this the more area you can cover the better your chances are to have a higher score. As for the blazers vanes I would have to agree with what has been said " a line was drawn at four inches and that is that ". As far as I am concerned you should shoot the HC with what you hunt with!

Mike,
Now days you are correct about fat shafts and I partially agree that you should shoot the hunter class with what you hunt with.Fancy this...If memory serves me correctly, (no, I'm not telling ya'll my age), theHunter Class started within local archery clubs everywherein the late 80's and was classified as finger shooters, sights with no more than 4 fixed pins, 12" or lessstabilizers, and full length aluminum arrows with 5" fletchings andscrew in 125 grain tips, shot at
50 yards.All the arrows were "
fat shafts", because they were aluminum. Where did 35 yards come from. This class was created as to not compete with release shooters withmovable sights, 4' stablizers, overdraws, and shortlightweight carbon arrows with 2" vanes. What happened to this class? Let's bring this class back as
Hunter Fingers and
Hunter Release, and make our current Hunter Classes the Advanced Hunter Classes, Fingers and Release.
This is only my opinion and I'm sure that this is just a dream that will probably never come true, but think about it. I know that bows and equipment are now more modern, and efficient, but the concept is the same.... Shoot ansharp stickfrom a bow, what a novel idea...
TO EVERYONE, SHOOT STRAIGHT AND GOOD LUCK THIS BOW SEASON!
