Default taxed entry fee?

not up on tax laws, but isnt wv hitting the ibo participants a little hard? an $8.90 increase over last year, is part of that the extra five we have been charged for targets already this year? is the tax $3.90? or the full amount? are any of the winners going to be required to pay wv income tax? i cant believe wv is charging us a fee to have fun....at this rate i better keep closer tabs on the amount of fun i have....

Default RE: taxed entry fee?

Keith,

What is the entry fee going to be this year for the World?
Have the lodging cost increased?
What is the entry fee for the Trophy Round going to be.

People have been asking what the increases are going to be and how much?

lIt would be nice to know what changes there are for planning purposes.

If you don't know I'm sure someone on the Forum will have or can get the answers.

doug, according to the qualifying paperwork i have, the fee for all classes is 68.90, pmr, 302.10..all other pro classes 270.30 spm 164.30...spf 95.40, fbh 10.60.

i dont know about any room rate increases, i am pretty sure we got our unit for the same price we paid last year. i dont think it is snowshoe or the ibo has imposed this tax, and im not sure why after the years we have been at snowshoe we now have to pay an additional fee, or tax.

according to my redneck math, commonly used here in ky, we are being charged 65 dollars for the event, and $3.90 taxes...a tax rate of 6%. is this a sales tax? usage tax? service provided tax?

my next question is this. if wv is now charging a tax of some sort, are the other states that host ibo events not charging the tax out of lack of knowledge by those states of the event, or is wv just getting one over on the shooters.

Room rates have doubled for me. In 04 I was able to get 5 nights at the spruce for $205
This year the cheapest place I could get was 4 nights for $355

Room rates did not go up from 2005 to 2006. If your room is more, it might be because you changed lodges or how many bedrooms you got. If this is not the case, let me know by email to ibo@ibo.net
