Default Keep Your Tacos....

I had homemade lasagna tonight--my aunt's old recipie. It's a ton of work, but it's oh-so-worth-it in the end....

Honorable Husband makes some wicked Italian food. I love the linguine with tuna, anchovies, and capers.

We have to eat it sparingly or we would end up having to buy all new clothes.

The only thing better than lasagna is re-heated lasagna...what is it about Italian food that makes it better the second time? My dad doesn't care for lasagna, but he ate a big helping (twice). My son (super picky eater) loved it. My brother said it tasted just like Aunt Bea's (who gave us the recipie). Man that's good stuff....

Oh, Lasagna is good, but NOTHING can beat a good ole cow tongue taco.. I could eat cow tongue every day of my life and never ever get tired of it, the only thing that comes close to that is Barbacoba,, which is cow head cooked in a pit and served on a corn or flour tortillia... I perfer the corn tortillias.

Lasagna is okay, but this red necked South Texas Mexican Pollock has to have them tacos.. ,,, oh forgot about the 1/4 Irish...Dang I'm a mess. guess that's why I love them tacos with a pint of bitters.

That don't mean I don't love ya.

I love Mexican food--I love about any spicy food, whether it's Asian, Mexican, Cajun, Italian, etc. etc. etc. My aunt's lasagna recipie is just the best--something we don't make very often at all because of the work and expense--probably why I love it so much. That, and I've never found any in a resturant or anyone eles's recipie that compares.

Last night my brother fixed a birthday supper for me--grilled pork loin wrapped in bacon, stuffed with mushrooms, cream cheese, and jalapenos...oh man...finest slab of pork I've ever tasted...it just melted in your mouth. We had a blast--one of our friends had a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on DVD and we rocked the walls at my brother's man cave......

I've never found a taco that could come anywhere close to either of these meals...but I'll keep looking just in case.....

Ok, let's settle this once and for all; how about a Lassgna taco, and some cow tounge for desert! ...Those tacos are the reason for me having to lose weight.. I did manage to drop 12 pounds in two weeks and today I'm going to work for the first time in 8 months and I'm able to fit back into my gray suit I just bought before my wreck.. I'm not offically released, I will be this coming Friday "God willing" but I've been released by the rest of the doctors. Today I'm going to inspect a theater in Waco Tx.

Reading about the lasagna made my stomch rumble. Then I read the Rev's post about cow tongue and cabesa tacos...now I'm really hungry.

I had some awesome beef tongue at La Cumbre (sp?) in SF many years ago.

I was hungry too; but I fixed that. My wife it out of town visiting her mom in Oklahoma for a week so I made me a gallon of Elk chili.. ...she's not much on wild game, when that runs out, it's some good ole chicken fried back strap and gravy...there goes the diet.... I did pass up some cow tongue and some barbacoba my daughter made and invited me over, but I had to pass it up because of my lardness, I have managed to lose 14 pounds in two weeks. I'm back into my business clothes again. a little tight but back in them again.
