SWT, I think you could add a lot too if you would just not take every thing so serious and just let a little slide. I think your a good guy but just a little up tight. Just try having a little fun. I know you took on a job here and your trying to do your best, but I think you will learn with time.

Carry on everyone!!!!

It's got me thinking I can't tell when some of you are joking and when you're not. I can only assume it's a joke and that someone isn't so out of touch that they really believe the mods of this site don't contribute anything.

I probably come off serious all the time because i'm a serious person in my daily life. I think a lot of it gets carried over to this site. I'm just not amused or interested in some of the same (non-hunting) topics as a lot of you, therefore I don't post a lot in this section. The Off Season only gets a small portion of my attention when I'm on this site. It just seems like i'm in here a lot because this is pretty much the only section I have to moderate. Other than getting rid of spammers, I don't have to apply a lot of moderating to the other sections other than moving threads from time to time because they're posted in the wrong section. I spend the majority of my time on This site contributing to and reading the hunting specific sections.

As far as learning with time... I've spent enough time moderating this site and others and enough time here to realize that no matter what there's still going to be some folks that will never be happy or satisfied. Some folks are just miserable people and need to take it out on other folks. But that's what makes us unique. Some people can do just fine and be happy and others need to call people names and start trouble to feel good about themselves. It'll never change. All I can do is try to apply the rules as fairly as I can and try to be friendly to others. If some folks can't accept that, then there's not a whole lot I can do about it.

I agree its often hard to tell when someone is joking when you can only read their words and not hear them.
I think it would be safe to say that most everything is meant as a joke or someone giving someone else a hard time. Especially if it came from a thread that originated in joking manner.

I'm not one who believes the mods don't conribute anything. I'm not really all that prudish, but I I like it that the language is kept relatively clean. I don't care to see a thread degenerate into a few people posting personal attacks and threats at each other. I'm glad the site is moderated and I think that, in general, the mods do a good job. That's my personal opinion.

Although I don't think that Aristotle's "Golden Mean," that is, moderation in all things, always applies, But I do believe that moderating is something that should be done in moderation.

Now, with that being said, I think 2L does add a lot to our forum. He not only contributes here but in the other sections of the forum as well. As far as I'm concerned he is a valuable member.
Good Gawd.....he took the bait and ran off about 100 yds. There is hope for you SWT.
Rainy day here with some wind, iffy late season ice and most importantly a birthday party for my oldest daughter keeps me off the ice today.... and I am bored. to Maryellen. Think I'll go to Hero's Welcome for a coffee and one of those great cinnamon buns.http://heroswelcome.com/

I was obviously intoxicated at 3am this morning when I wrote this. Please don't take into consideration of me having a good time last night when you judge me on being member of the month today. My hometown won the 2A Basketball Championship in Peoria, IL. last night and I happened to be home this weekend and caught the game at the local watering hole.
