Default what would you want

i read this in the local newspaper last weekend.. the guy was talking about the extra turkey tag in PA... and he said he would rather spend 20 bucks for all day hunting and the season to come in 2 weeks early.. so my question is, if you had to pick would you rather have the season stay the same and have an extra tag, or would you want the season to come in 2 weeks early and all day hunting but only one tag..

im torn on this one.. i like both ideas, but i think i would pick the extra tag..

Well I'm sure we can't have "the best of both worlds" and although a season starting two weeks early is appealing, I think I'd go with the extra tag. At least if you're fortunate enough to get a bird early in the season, you could continue to hunt.

Easy,
Three weeks earlier, three weeks long, all day hunting.
The gobblers start late Feb, early March with their ruckus. If we get a warm spring, the guys are all done before season even starts. I have seen numerous gobblers along the roads but NO gobbling in the morning now. And forget getting one to answer a call now..

How about an extra tag with an extra week at the end?

I like things the way they are right now! I adamantly oppose the extra tag, and I like the season set up the way we have it now.

NJ starts the season in mid April and that seems to be peak for gobbling. As someone said, they gobble like crazy from late March and a wasrm SPring shuts them down. This week has been so warm that no one is hearing any gobbles..

I'd like to see the price of the extra tag bumped up to $40. Maybe make PGC a little richer. I'd also like to see a $40 afternoon hunting permit.
I'd like to see a $100 spring bear archery tag.
I'd like to see a $100 Sunday hunting license.

PGC could have hordes of money if they knew what to sell and what to charge.

Keep it the way it is, an earlier season may knock the gobblers down before most of the breeding is done. Then what................a decline in the numbers of birds statewide.

Half day hunts are great...................

hunting in the AM & fishing in the afternoon..................doesn't get any better than that!
