Just curious if there is any fellow hunters from Maine? From Ellsworth area myself? What do you think of open season on turkey in 2006?

Yep, Maine hunter here, but not a Mainer. I hunt in the Dexter area every year. My dad lives in that area. You'll find a few Maine hunters here and a bunch of them over on www.huntingchat.net DL

Fryeburg checking in. I have turkey season A while husband has B. I am struggling this year as 2 of my favorite areas are flooded. Also I seem to be surrounded by poor sportsmen or women. Twice I've encountered bad behavior and it's only week one. Could be a long season at this rate. Pray for less rain. How is hunting in the Ellsworth area?

My hunting camp is off the Stud Mill Rd. in Great Pond. If you're familiar with the area, it's only a couple of miles from the CN road junction.

All I have to say about those woods is there are some HUGE deer and some extremely tough bow hunting. I just love the challenge. Where about in Hancock are you hunting?

not from maine, but looking for land there. i hunt around edmunds with a friend for bear, hoping to try there for deer this year. from what i have heard, mainers are getting an awakening about turkey season this year, with hunters being everywhere thanks to the open season. next year will probably be worse for you with even more tags sold.
