Default Delaware Poke and Turkey Hunting

My wife and I went Poke hunting this evening and saw four Wild Turkeys 1 hen and 3 gobblers. This is in the same area were I killed a gobbler on the opening day. We also got two nice bags of poke, for Poke salad.

Poke is a weed that you can eat, but only when it is young and tender. My wife made it for dinner tonight, it is good. Click below maybe you will want to try it.

I have heard that with poke salad , if you dont do it right and get the wrong leaves or stems in it, it could kill you or at best make you awfully sick, is there any truth to that....

I have heard that to, But I am 67 years old and have eaten it most of my life. You must pick it when it it very young. Here is a link that tells you about it.
