Read today in Outdoor Life Magazine New York is one of the top five eastern states with a high black bear population. I had two encounters last in Steuben County. I thought it was interesting.

Bear numbers are definately on the rise here in Steuben County. Seems like everyone's been seeing them around over the past 2-3 years.

So far this spring in North Jersey we've had 2 dogs mauled and a horse eaten by bears.... So glad the DEP here in NJ decided we didn't need a bear hunt last year![:@]

they said bears were moven into ct too and ive seen some droppings....mayb in 10 years theyll have a season!!!!!!!!

Last Year During NY bow hunting season, I was out Staining a home In Nunda & fresh bear tracks every morning going around the house, Getting sightings & tracks seen of alot of Black bear in Steubon, Livingston countys, Pl;an on Bow hunting Black bear in Region 6 this year, canisteo area, Should be interesting.
