Default PA DCNRDeer Management Plan

Here is the link to DCNR's report. The report still claims there has been no statewide herd reduction and we still have to reduce the herd by 50%. However, the report is based on flawed data as demonstrated by the data provided in Table 1.

The table is totally messed up. I hope its just a mistake. How come total harvest = reproduction every year? No wonder you can't reduce the herd!

This is the data that's fueled so many debates on this MB and others? If that's how they arrive at 1.6 M deer, that's scary.

DCNR is being run by extreme environmentalists who are no friend to the hunter. For us to believe otherwise would be a big mistake for our future.

They are definitely out there!

I still support the idea of reasonable HR and AR but this report goes way beyond anything reasonable IMHO.

You are right. That is very odd. How does the total harvest = reproduction every year????????????? I support game management. I believe that there is a reasonable solution to this. But so far it has elluded the game commission.
