That's good. Except for the book 10pt on posted land. That definetly sucks. Most of the huge bucks are on posted land here to. But there are a couple real good bucks on huntable land. So I'm looking forward to season. I hope it start cooling down some though.

I've got a farm in Braxton county, and I've spent a lot of time there this summer. We've seen a lot of bucks, but only a couple "shooters".

This past weekend, I saw a nice 9pt and a couple others that were either small 8's or big six's. Many years we don't the bigguns until the weather cools off. Hope this year is the same...If last year was any indication, the quality of our bucks is getting better!

Braxton, that is really close to me. I could go up there and take your bucks down for you if you like. I live in Calhoun so you know how close I am to you. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

You are right about the posted land Monroe is a strange county Jefferson National Forest is the only open land to hunt there and is so over hunted it is hard to even find a buck but most of the county is privetly owned and posted with no way of getting permission and a lot of damage stamps are given out. The day we took that drive we saw over 200 deer in a 12 mile stretch and about 50 bucks in one field there were 5 bucks and 2 of them were shooters.

Hardy County here -- outside of Baker.

Last week I counted 99 deer while traveling the 4 miles from my property to the main road.

The neighboring farmer says they took 70+ deer off his mountain last year -- we can't accuse these guys of &quot;only trophy hunting&quot;. They are so tired of the deer that they shoot pretty much anything that moves.
