first CT hog yesterday

i saw the years first groundhog the other day on the side of the highway in norwhich today... there were two of em... i went home later that day, went out and bought a new scope... the hogs are in for a suprise in my fields this year.... anybody have any groundhog tips they can give me? i'm a newbie to groundhogs

If you whistle the groundhog will usually stand up for a better shot. Do you have a bipod on your gun? If not I would consider getting one. Have fun!

I can't wait, I will be taking time off to hunt Turkey's in PA the first week, and will be hunting the ground hogs after 12. I got a new .17 hmr with a 4.5x14x40AO scope on it that should be deadly on anything closer than 200 yards. I can shoot holes in a dime every time at 100 yards with this thing.........

i have a bipod on it, beautiful weapon, .270ADL, shoots nickels at 150yards
