lemond33, I'd assume the guys that could best answer that question probably won't...they probably hunt the area themselves and who needs to draw an even larger crowd. A little leg work could probably key you in! Heck, check out Terraserver and do some research over the computer!

Bowhunters I know that do well there generally hunt close the Refuges or the Smryna River. Good luck!

lemond , I planted rut and strut on the Deakyne farm this Summer , that is the first farm on the left as you turn in by the power plant . I think the front part might be public hunting. There are always deer in Cedar Swamp, but we haven[t got the corn off yet. We havent got the corn off where Scott goes either, be patient we;ll get there and there will be an a$$ load oof deer. Scott meaning Duckmastor.

ron, what's the big deal about getting the corn off?? i think the hunting is good with it there.. i know they lay in it, but where i hunt there is a combo of bean and corn. they love bean too..and they cant lay in it for concealment. hey, i am not complaining, take your time. i have never been to cedar creek, but my mother is in dutch neck farms..it cant be to far from there. i will check it out.

lemond we had spoken before about Augustine wildlife are, I think it is in beans. I dont know when we are going to get to Cedar Swamp, we wont be putting any wheat in up there after the corn gets off.

Since I don't Archery hunt, I'll let you in on a nice stand. Augustine number 19. I've seen tons of does and some decent bucks while dove hunting in the afternoon generally between 3 and 5. They walk right under the stand.

I kid you not, the deer walked out from the field/wooded brush in front of stand 19 while dove hunting. That field wasn't doing much shooting, but there was a decent amount around it. I saw them there the Saturday before dove, opening day of day, and a few more consecutive afternoons. If I bow hunted, I'd have been there. The bucks I were seeing weren't huge but decent 4-6 pointers.
