hi ,new york a few friends of mine are thinking about hunting new york this year , we live in ma. is there any good hunting areas on the outskirts of albany area , or does anyone know if there is land out there to lease or is it just good to hunt public land,we would be bowhunting /m/l/ shotgun any info would be great on some areas, we all have are bowhunting saftey course we have to take.that is needed to hunt newyork, thanks to those who respond!!!

If your looking to hunt around the Albany area, that is going to put you in the Southern zone. There is State Land to hunt, but you are going to encounter other hunters. Lots of them. If you are going to Bow Hunt, check into the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. It's Archery only. It's a little resedential, but there are a lot of deer.
