Default Catskill Hunters - I need some info from you guys

I hunt the Catskills every year from my cabin. Next year though, my father, uncle, brother, and I are thinking of hiking into one of the wilderness areas, setting up a camp, and hunting out there for a couple of days. A lot of the locals that I have spoke with in my area (Margaretville) all do this and pull out some bruisers every year. Have any of you guys done anything like this? If so, how were your experiences? Is it worth the effort that it is going to take? We are thinking of setting up camp on Balsam Lake Mt. or Dry Brook Ridge. Any info that you guys can provide will be more than appreciated. Thanks.
