I take it you live in PA and are referring to the '05 license hike.....I'm from PA and live in MD now but still fish in PA religiously. I can"™t believe it"™s gonna cost me almost $70 to get a PA fishing license this year, if you ask me that"™s highway robbery. I don"™t know where my money is going but there better be some monster fish in the creeks this year!!!

$61 is almost $70? (non-resident + trout stamp)

For the price of other recreational activities it is dirt cheap.

Good luck I'll bet it the same 6-10 inchers Rember when the trout stamp first came to be , they said how big the fish were going to be[:@][:@]

I'm astounded that all these sportsmen have been crying rivers about Gary Alt, when we then have to refinance the mortgage to go FISHING!!

I'm already entitled to swim and recreate in the waters of the Commonwealth. I feel that since I take no fish from those waters (I throw 'em all back) that it is silly to spend that much money for the privilege of casting my rod into that same water when it's free to run the kayak in it or canoe through it.

I think a WV non-resident license may be cheaper than a resident PA license. They stock more and better fish, too.

I'll probably buy a week-long non-resident WV pass and take my little fishing getaway down there this season. My PA fishing will be relegated to pay-lakes, where I actually catch fish.

To me, the recent hike in Fishing license fees is attrocious.

Is the Fish and Boat Commission self-funded like PGC??

Well I dont eat anything that is served to me with bones. I have bone-a-fobia. that leaves out fish.I always find one even with a professional fillet job. Then I get sick and puke.

I did a project on PA fishing license sales and it turns out that the majority of the money brought in from licenses is put into the Fish Fund. This money helps improve stream quality/stream restorations, and among other things its put back into the hatcheries. I have no problem with the increased price, i think i paid around $31 for a years worth of fishing. One weekend of golf can be more that, so i'm not gonna complain. And for the size, yeah it has decreased but they still stock a good many nice size trout. You just gotta catch em.

i just checked the stocking list in berks county, and the place where i go is going to get about 2000 trout less that it did last year. when the trout stamp first came out they put in about 11000 trout, now its about 7000. i might not get a lic. i think its cheaper to pay the fine if i get caught. i just dont like paying for nothing. the place i am talking about is the manautoney. i know i didnt spell that right, but the people who live around the pottstown area will know the place im talking about. peace
