How are your populations compared to the past?

Here's PA

bear-holding steady
wild pheasants-gone
grouse-down due to the lack of clearcutting
rabbits-down due to loss of habitat and predators
turkey-up
squirrel-holding steady
coyotes-way up

Default RE: Game populations in NE states

Here's South Jersey

Deer: stable unlimited harvest of does 3 bucks w/bow 2 w/gun with AR
Bear: rising closed our 1 year old season. Cambell wants them to wear condoms or use the sponge LOL
Wild Pheasants: They have all come from stocked birds and they stocked plenty Stamp $40.
Rabbits: I have beagles 8 of them and the 10yr cycle is rising. I also trapped fox last year heavily on the ground I rabbit gun.
Quial: Down do to habitat and farming practices.
Fox: Stable
Turkeys: All over
Coyotes: Went from 2 per season to unlimited. I feel this will increase in up coming years.
Squirrels: always have been plenty/ no pressure

I feel it is up to us all to manage our own hunting grounds regardless of what others do.
Managing resources is easy. Managing people is another story. Aldo Leopold, I think.
