Default Finally! A License in NY

I was o for 12 after standing in lines only to hear that " the computer is down again" I went to Wally World in Amsterdam only to find that while they have not had problems with the system, but they had run out of the tags to print on. # 13 was the lucky number for me this year. Got my super sportsman and both picks on DMP's Now I can rest.

Someone told me the company contracted to install this new system is none other than WorldCom - the recently bankrupt company.

Is an antlerless tag included with the regular or shotgun season buck tag?

Well. Went to the town hall today, two guys in line ahead of us. They both got licenses without a hitch. The lady got 1/2 way through mine and the system locked up. Literally half of my tags were hanging out of the printer.

She told me she would keep trying and call me when she can complete it.

This system is a good idea, but some friggen testing would have been a good idea before we actually had to count on it.

I got mine on Aug 28th at the town clerk. No one was in line and it went right through. I went to Walmart that evening to get some bow hunting stuff, and they were taking numbers, and having some problems. I'm sure the system is not the best, but I've heard of a few cases where the people inputting the information, were not well trained, and causing problems, that bogged the system down.

I expect it will be a whole different ballgame next year. My advice is....get your tag(s) as soon as you can. When crunch time comes, the system will probably not be able to handle it.

The Story ends Thusly..............

Clerk called this morning and told me she got my license to finish printing. I didn't walk, I RAN to her office, finished my license and bought my wifes. Not too bad, only took me 2 trips to the town hall. They are right, this is a LOT easier than the ONE TRIP that it took me last year.<G>
