Default NJ Permit Question

If I will be hunting Private land , do you need a permit for that zone if its not on a public WMA ? Friend of mine has 30 acres that backs up to Wharton State Forest. For you guys that are close , hows the deer herd up there ?

damn you NJ ....28 dollaring me to death. So far I've spent ( 1) $28 for the license (2) $40 pheasant stamp (3) $28 ML permit and soon to be (4) $56 for shotgun & ML permit for my buddys place. So Grand total of $152. Might as well be an out of state hunter with those prices ! [:'(]
