Carbon County Report

I ran up to Carbon County (near Jim Thorpe) for the last day of bear to try my luck. While I didn't get a bear, I got a chance to get familiar with a different hunting area. I hit the state game lands off of Rt. 903 and saw a good amount of sign. I saw a few scrapes and a good number of rubs. I also saw 6 doe in a rhodie thicket and a spike walking across the logging road. I went down Behren (sp?) Road right at Bear Essentials and took that to the SGL parking area. I followed the dirt road all the way to the last parking area right by the iron gate. I saw the does in a rhodie thicket across from the parking area and the spike was near there, too. Not an enormous amount of sign but enough to be hopeful. A lot of acorns as well.

WELL I WILL BE GOING UP DEC 2-4 HUNTING THAT AREA RIGHT OFF 534 AND RT 940 AROUND THERE... HOPE TO GET SOMETHING DO YOU KNOW WHERE I'M TALKING ABOUT

I'm not exactly sure. I know where 940 is. Doesn't that run through Blakeslee? I usually hunt an hour and a half away in Sullivan County but my in-laws live in Bear Creek Lakes on 903. The place I hunted was about 5 minutes from their house.
