Just checked the ANF site. All 11,000+ DMAP coupons are spoken for!
They went rather fast this year. I guess word is gettin out!

I think the landowners have their buddies waiting and have them tags covered

I called a landowner that was listed in 5 C and he said the 25 tags he had allocated were already alloted to the 30 regular hunters he had hunting his 119 acres. I ask him if we could hunt his land using our regular tags and he said he had all the hunters he wanted. So much for DMAP controling the herd in the SRA counties.

I have no doubt that some private landowners will use DMAP to get their family and their buddies an extra tag. My original post was referring to the ANF where the DMAPS were available to the general public via the net.

Actually, I believe that someone who owns the land ought to have the right to choose who hunts it. If a landowner feeds and supports the deer herd all year, is it really a bad thing that he lets his family and friends in to harvest those deer first?

The PGC website still gives the contact info but the USFS website says they're all spoken for and will be mailed out by Sept 1. The web address is lengthy and I don't have it saved here at home (had to do a complete recovery of the hard drive again last night. NEVER buy an HP[:@] computer!)
When I get to work, I'll post the site

fwiw the PGC press release for today said;

"However, the Allegheny National Forest, which lies in portions of WMUs 1B and 2F, has fewer than 1,000 DMAP coupons available for the 46,465 acres of DMAP property #148. The other DMAP properties enrolled in DMAP by the Allegheny National Forest already have distributed their allotment of coupons to hunters. "
