Changing shotgun to Rifle

Has anyone heard anything about change some countys to rifle from shotgun ? I read about it about a month ago but have seen nothing more.

this is my iunderstanding:

the bill that would allow rifle hunting in all or portions of Broome, Chenango, & Tioga counties (possibly some others) has passed either the House or Assembly and gone to the other house for vote. most likely nothing will happen with it this year (??)
