I do my normal drive around my house 20 miles or so west of Philadelphia and so far i have yet to see any real nice bucks. all the deer i have been seeing are mostly 1 year old deer with there first set of horns. i normally see at least a few bruisers soon because most of the deer out here aren't hunted and on private ground. just wanted to see if anyone has seen any bigger deer with bigger racks yet? or is it too early still to tell? thanks

Last week after I got off duty I was driving home on the Garden State Parkway, it was 2:15 pm, I saw 3 bucks, 1 was a large body with a very impressive rack. But of course this is in area with too many homes. I would think its the same brusier i see every summer he's a very large 8 or better with at least a 24" spread, and I would say well close to the 250lb. mark. The others not sure as points but they have nice body size to them. Once the summer is over they goto a golf couse thats about 2 miles away, where there are plenty of does for them during the rut. That big 8 I think it was him i saw by the golf couse in October, but it was dark and i was going 70mph. I tried to gain permission to hunt the course or put up my Cam-Trekker, but they said "NO!!!" They know people are hunting it, I told them I'm a police officer and I would help catch them, but it comes down to the local residents. Oh well can't wait till the opener!!!!!
Must be a street wise buck for it to survive the summer traffic on the Garden State Parkway! Just curious, have you ever walked some of the medium between the north/south bound routes? Always had a theory that a smart buck would be looming in there, but never had the opportunity to walk a portion. There are some fairly wide pieces at times and I've heard stories of the larger wiser bucks clearing traffic before they cross roads.
I came across my first impressive one last weekend. It was as wide as his ears and ready to branch. The brow points were looking pretty good already. It's still a little early for most of the bucks though.
Jason N , the creeks are filled with trout up in your neck of the woods , jsut reporting back after the last holiday weekend! the EYE arent in full swing it seemed , i landed a few tiny guys but nothing that great!
We should get together this fall for a bow hunt up in the mountains , i have NEVER hunted bow up there , but i know of some spots that are sure to produce deer... Ive been up there first day of buck and had a buck running does , it happened for the last 2 years straght , they always come outta the same thicket , and then they chase them nose to their butts and grunting!
Lemme know!

I've got some good areas out your way! I'll be busy this weekend and next, but after that I'm pretty much free on the weekends and I have a week off the first full week of July. Shoot me and email or PM and we'll get together.
