Johnson College which used to be Johnson technical School, across from Schiff's in Scranton has had a Vetrinary technician program for several years. A Rabies clinic and other dog related events every year as well. In the past they did not see outside dogs, but thier clinic is now open for routine check ups, shots, etc. Nothing extensive, but the shots are probably cheaper than your regular vet. I've used the Vet down the road from there- Citywide, I believe and prices have varied from visit to visit depending on the Vet that sees my hounds. Anyway if you've got a bunch of dogs in Northeastern PA Johnson's vet tech clinic may be worth looking into. Was able to get a three year rabies shot because I had my certificate from last year, during thier rabies vaccination day last month for five bucks a hound! enjoy. Juniorpc.
I also use Citywide since we did not like Ed Ferret in Moscow. Ed was also my son's baseball coach and we now like him even less. I have a 2 year old mix breed, Roti, Lab, and Springer and she needs her shots. I also need some other things done, like nails cut. Do they have weekend hours on Saturday??
Can I walk in and check out their setup??
Tom I would think you could walk in and check out thier set up. There located in the back of the college. I have a brochure somewhere and will try to locate it for the phone number. They did most routine things. I've also used Dr. Davis in Lake Ariel but he misdiagnosed a pregnancy (at 30 bucks for the test, plus the office visit). We breed one of our females to a good stud dog from New York, but didn't think it took. He didn't either and she blew up like a balloon and popped out eight pups!
One Gentleman in Eagle Lake has one of our pups- Roger... can't recall his last name. ... I see the Gouldsboro address and moscow little league and that would fit the Eagle Lake area.. I'll get back to you on with the phone number.
Juniorpc.
Yes, Eagle lake is not far from where I live, but I'm nearer to Big Bass Lake and Lakeview Estates. Eagle Lake has all trailers, Big Bass and Lakeview are homes. Anyway, I live east of Big Bass next to a lake called the Klondike. I'm also up the road from Kelly's Pocono Crest, which is now unfortunately an Assisted Living home that is in the process of going under.
Anyway, what type of dogs do you have and if you find the number that would be great. I've never been to Citywide since me wife always takes them there. Also, do you know of any good kennels for temporary boarding? I mainly use KC Kennels in Madisonville, at $9 per night, and they are good towards the dogs but they fill up quickly for the summer.
My uncle uses Springbrook Kennels and is very pleased. I'll get ahold of him for thier number and ask about prices. They go away for extended periods and have no trouble leaving thier dog at Springbrook.
We have foxhounds (really are no others!) and do a lot of running in frytown and that vicinity. Our hounds have been in Eagle lake from time to time and around Klondike Dam. Those swamps in fry town are so thick that they usually run tighter circles (usually) and it's far enough from 380 to be a bit safer than some other areas we hunt. I check on those phone numbers for you in the next day or two. Juniorpc.
Thanks, I'd appreciate that and Frytown is something.
I love taking the truck through that road. I know a few people that live on Lehigh just before Frytown, the Smiths and Billy Wykoff has some property over there as well. Of course, many people hit the game lands off of Lehigh. I have done some hiking in around there but I still not seen all the property around there. The property around the Klodike is owned by Ty Scott, and I am his Dam operator. It's convient since I live next to it. Also, I am a member of the hunting club and can hunt and fish there, so I do.
